NOTICE OF REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. Independent School District No. 229 Lanesboro Schools Forum 100 Kirkwood St E, Lanesboro, MN 55949
A great day at NICC, Calmer IA learning about careers in Animal Science at their Animal Science Career Showcase. A special thanks to Dave Lawstuen, an Ag instructor and dept. chair, for organizing and inviting us to this event. Students learned about Lely milking robots and barn cleaning and feeding robots, they did a health analysis on cows and learned about calf nutrition, collect eggs from an ovary and learn about the process of egg collection and embyo transplant. The day concluded with a talk from a financial officer. As you can see from a few pictures it was a great day at NICC.







Day 7 & 8: Capitol Hill, boat cruise, and Smithsonian museums
And that's a wrap! Great weather, great kids, and great fun!!








Day 6: Mount Vernon, Arlington National Cemetery, Iwo Jima Memorial, and "Shear Madness" at the Performing Arts Center.










Prom tickets are officially on sale. $55 per person plus a keychain. Checks can be made out to Lanesboro Schools Junior Class. Guest sign ups will be in the office.

Day 5: Finished up at Colonial Williamsburg and headed to the Marine Corps Memorial, and then into DC for a nighttime memorial tour. The Cherry Blossoms are beautiful!










Day 4 Senior Class Trip: Monticello and Colonial Williamsburg. Cool with a whole lot of sunshine!










Congratulations to McKenna Bunke making finals and taking 6th place in Poetry today at the Cotter Speech Meet. Congratulations also to Sophia Hanner for making finals and taking 5th in Novice Original Oratory. Lynkon York also finished strong in Humorous.


Day 3: Senior Class Trip-more time on the Gettysburg battlefield, Harper's Ferry, Shenandoah National Park, and pool time at the hotel! Today was a little cool and rainy, but it didn't ruin our fun!!









Day 2: Senior Class Trip - Flight 93 Memorial, Gettysburg, and lots of learning on our rolling classroom!

Lanesboro FFA celebrated the accomplishments of members and 75 years of FFA at their annual banquet! A great group assembled after the blizzard caused postponement to honor our members! Thankful for agricultural education and 75 years of FFA!

A reminder that the end of the Third Quarter is March 27th. This is also a HALF-DAY of school for all students.
Practicing communication and teamwork skills at Southeast Tech in Winona. Students learned more about programs and careers in Business and Health Sciences.



The Lanesboro Schools Policy Committee will meet on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 3:30 PM in the Forum.
The FFA banquet has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17 beginning at 6:15 in the Lanesboro gym. See you then!
