Updates (7-12)

To our Students,
I wanted to send out a quick note of encouragement and hopefully one or two things that can ease some of the anxiety for you as we look at beginning class today.
The first thing I would like to share with you is the most obvious. This has never happened before and hopefully won’t again. There is no rule book for what we will do for distance education if we experience a global pandemic. There just isn’t.
More importantly, I hope you are safe and healthy. That is the whole point for this plan. If you are fortunate enough at the end of this to not know anyone that got sick, remember that was the whole point.
Next thing, your teachers are learning right along with you. In the past few weeks they have learned to use tools for the first time and did so willingly to help you continue this process of learning. When you get “too many” emails I encourage you to see it as a positive thing that there are people out there preparing to help you and serve you. As we get better at this we may be able to find a box to check that doesn’t send you an email for “every student teacher interaction”. Do your best to get on the zoom calls as these will be the best way to interact in real time with your teachers. If you are not able on a given day, please reach out to your teachers.
Last thing for today - Please let us know. Let your teacher know what works, what isn’t working, why you couldn’t get on, or what may be stopping you from doing well on an assignment. We will be flexible but we need to know. Let us know how you are feeling and if you or your family need anything. Let us know.
This will be an adventure for sure. And we will learn things far beyond the lessons being taught.
Your Principal,
Mr. Clarke
